No — you cannot switch a demo Cwebhook account to live, or a live account to demo.
Each Cwebhook login is permanently linked to exactly one cTrader broker account (and that account’s demo or live type).
Prop firms and demo subscriptions
Many prop firm challenges run on demo-type cTrader accounts. With some firms, funded accounts also continue as demo-type rather than traditional live retail accounts.
That means a paid subscription on a demo Cwebhook login is intentional for prop trading — it keeps your challenge or funded-demo login active beyond the free 30-day trial. You only need a live Cwebhook account when the broker account itself is live.
See Using Cwebhook with prop firms.
What the “exactly one trading account” error means
On the cTrader consent screen you must tick one account only:
- For a demo Cwebhook signup or reauth: tick your demo broker account only.
- For a live Cwebhook signup or reauth: tick your live broker account only.
- Do not select both demo and live at once.
When you actually need a live Cwebhook account
- Confirm your broker account is genuinely live (not a prop challenge/funded demo).
- Open a new live account at open-live-account.
- Grant access to exactly one live cTrader account.
- Save the new username, password, and webhook key — they are different from your demo login.
If you already paid on demo, ask support to transfer the subscription.
